Mackenzie Crochet Tartan Afghan Pattern

Mackenzie Tartan, Source: Wikipedia
Mackenzie Clan Tartan
The Mackenzie tartan is the regimental tartan of the Seaforth Highlanders, who were raised by MacKenzie, Earl of Seaforth, in 1778. Wilson’s of Bannockburn’s 1819 pattern book recorded various widths and weights of cloth suitable for the different ranks in the regiment.
About Your Crochet Tartan Afghan
The tartan pattern uses medium weight acrylic knitting/crochet yarn. Finished size of the afghan is 48” x 72” (4 ft. x 6 ft.).
All stitches are single crochet (sc). To allow for the combination of two colors in one stitch and make a tartan-like afghan, two strands of yarn are used in each stitch. Because up to 4 skeins of yarn will be used at a time while crocheting the afghan, the pattern is recommended for advanced crocheters.
The image above is from the first page of documentation that accompanies the pattern. It is not a picture of the final product and does not represent the tartan-like afghan you will achieve. Please refer to the samples pictured on the Product Samples page for an example of how the finished product will look.
